“Har Ghar Dhyan” at University Evening College, Mangaluru
Mangalore: NSS Unit of University Evening College, Mangaluru celebrated “Har Ghar Dhyan”- a workshop on meditation on the occasion of Azaadi ka Amrith Mahotsav on Monday 9th January 2023 at Shivarama Karantha Bhavan.

person Mrs. Shaila Kamath-Teacher of Art of Living, Mangalore gave a talk on
how to be calm, focused and relaxed at all situations. Techniques of training
the mind, being happy, facing the challenges and being positive through breathing
exercises were taught to the students. She said that challenges are part of
life and not to take drastic steps. She also Spoke about the importance of
meditation to control stress and mind.
Dr.
Subhashini Srivatsa – Principal of University Evening College, Mangaluru in her
presidential remarks expressed that happiness and unhappiness is the mental
state of mind. One can experience pain, irritation and pressure, but one can be
happy if he/she choose to be. She said that concentration creates stability,
health, spirituality and psychological fitness. When one wake up and make it a
point to look at the vast sun and the tree, Meditation leads to satisfaction.
Amitha
Sudhir-Teacher of Art of Living taught breathing techniques. Kamakshi
R Rai -Teacher of Art of Living conducted the session of Meditation.
The
programme was organised by Dr. Rathi-Co-ordinator of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahothsav and
Mrs Ashalatha-NSS program officer. Mr. Shreesharanya composed the program, prayer
was invoked by Mr.Ganesh and team, Ms. Nanditha welcomed the guests and the
gathering, Mr. Jeethesh introduced the guests. Vote of thanks was rendered by Chethan
Kumar. Teaching, non-teaching staff and students were present during the
program.
