
VALEDICTORY CEREMONY OF THE SHORT-TERM COURSE ON AYURVEDA FOR THE INTERNATIONAL DELEGATES
SDM
College of Ayurveda, Udupi initiated a short-term course on Ayurveda for the
International delegates in
the
month of November and its valedictory session was held on 25/11/2022 in the
esteemed presence of Dr. Mamatha KV, Principal of SDMCA Udupi who presided over the ceremony.
The
occasion was chaired by Dr. Suchetha Kumari, Associate dean, PG and PhD
studies, Dr. Veerkumara
K. Dean
of UG studies, Dr. Ravindra Angadi, Associate dean UG studies, Dr. Chaitra
Hebbar, Associate dean UG studies, Dr.ShrilathaK Kamath, Head of Kayachikitsa Department, also the Chairman
of the program.
The 21 day programme was scheduled with the direct of
pursuing proficiency in various Ayurvedic subjects within the short period.
Each subject was outlined to be engaged for 2 days and the delegates were
allowed to seek plausible information. The sessions involved conceptual as well
as practical aspects. The sessions were set in motion following the inaugural
function on 7th November 2022.Various accomplished hands of
different departments namely Dravyaguna,
Bhaishajya kalpana, Koumarabhritya, Shalakyatantra Prasuti tantra and Stree
roga, Kayachikitsa, Panchakarma and Shalya tantra were duly assigned to upskill
the delegates. During the course they were exposed to the various traditional
modalities of the treatment they expect they could implement it abroad. The
delegates appreciated the hospitality and the scholarly sessions during the
valedictory session.
Dr. Gayathri G Hegde, Associate Professor, Department
of Shalakya tantra welcomed the gathering and dignitaries with floral
greetings.The delegates were presented with a virtual and paper copy of a herbarium
prepared by Dr. Suma, Asso. Professor and Dr. Tejaswi, Asst. Professor
representing the department of Dravyaguna. Dr.Archana Shukla, Asst. Prof.,
Dept. of Basic Principles took over the certificate distribution ceremony.
Vote
of thanks was proposed by
Dr. Aparna K, Associate Professor
Dept of Kriyashareera. The delegates had arranged a surprised cake sharing
ceremony as a token of gratitude. A short video on the glimpses of the entire
21 days developed by Dr. Arun Kumar, Associate professor, Department of
Roganidana was put on view during the function and the gathering was gratified
with the work. Dr. Sharon Sebastian, Assistant Prof., Dept of Prasuti Tantra and StreeRoga
compered the program.
