ರಿಯಾದ್, ಜೂ, 27: ಜೂನ್ 25 ಶುಕ್ರವಾರದ೦ದು ರಿಯಾದ್ ಮಲಾಜ್‌ನ ‘ಭಾರತ್ ರೆಸ್ಟೋ ರೆ೦ಟ್ ಹಾಲ್‌’ನಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆ.ಡಬ್ಲ್ಯೂಎಆರ್ (Karavali Welfare Association Riyadh)ನ ಎರಡನೆ ವಾರ್ಷಿಕ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ಸಭೆಯು ಜರುಗಿತು. ಈ ಸ೦ದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ರಮೇಶ್ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿಯವರನ್ನು 2010-11ನೇ ಸಾಲಿನ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರನ್ನಾಗಿ ಸರ್ವಾನುಮತದಿ೦ದ ಆಯ್ಕೆ ಮಾಡಲಾಯಿತು.

Riyadh June 27, 2010: Mr. Ramesh Shetty was unanimously elected as a the President of ï¿½Karavali Welfare Association Riyadhï¿½ (KWAR) for the year 2010-11 during their 2nd Annual General Body Meeting which was held in "Bharath Restaurant Hall" in Malaz Riyadh on Friday, 25th June 2010.

The association was formed in the year 2008 with a kickoff to the "Direct flight to Mangalore" campaign as its prime objective and with a broader objective of many other issues faced by the people hailing from Mangalore and its surrounding areas of coastal Karnataka living in Riyadh.

Meeting began with a prayer by Mr. Prakash Shetty. Mr. Basker PM hosted the entire programme and entertained the crowd with his witty dialogues. The outgoing President Mr. Vijay Rai in his President's speech presented a comprehensive report of KWAR's activities which included Direct Flight Issues, Charity Programs, Annual Event and Future Plans. He also emphasized on importance of taking responsibilities by each and every member in the coming year. He thanked the members and the committee for the support given to him during his tenure.

Mr. Nelson D'souza presented Annual Financial Reports for the year 2009-10. Election Committee was chaired by Mr. Ambrose D'mello and Mr. Abdul Hameed Wenz. Present Committee was dissolved and new Committee of 31 members was formed on this occasion.

The new President Mr. Ramesh K Shetty Kalathur Angadi Guthu Udupi, working in Riyadh Kingdom Saudi Arabia for the last 28 years with M/s O.T.E Group of Companies as Marketing Manager. He is also the founder of Riyadh Bunts Association (BARSA) which was formed in 2001.

Mr. Shetty thanked all the members who shown confidence in him. He requested the co-operation and support from all the members to take KWAR to new heights in the coming years and assured that he will try to do his best.

A delicious lunch was served in the beginning of the program. Vote of thanks was given by Mr.Parvez Ali.
